Common diseases of poultry and natural prevention methods
6/21/2026
The biggest cause of loss in poultry farming is disease. If you recognize some common diseases in advance and take preventive measures, you can avoid major losses.
Common symptoms to watch out for
Reluctance to eat, lethargy, loose stools, and less movement than usual - these are the initial signs of illness. If you see them, they should be isolated quickly so that they do not spread to other chicks.
Importance of cleanliness
Keeping the housing area clean regularly, removing old droppings, and maintaining a dry environment - this is the most effective prevention measure. Many diseases spread from damp, unclean environments.
Food and water quality
Providing stale or contaminated food and water increases the risk of spreading diseases. Therefore, it is important to clean the water bowl regularly and provide fresh food.
Keeping new chicks separate
It is a good practice to keep new chicks in a separate place for a few days after bringing them from outside and observe them, so that if there is any disease, it does not spread to the entire farm.
Our advice
We try to hand over every baby we deliver in a healthy condition, but we recommend keeping them under close observation for the first few days after moving them to their new environment, so that any problems can be caught quickly.
