Cattle rearing on a shared basis is an old and tested practice in the rural economy of Bangladesh, where one person provides capital to buy a cow and another person keeps and raises the cow. After a certain period of time, the two parties share the profit or the cow. Farmer Kamol has re-designed this same model for sacrificial cows on his own farm in Sarail village, Raiganj upazila, Sirajganj — with complete transparency and video-based updates. Why is this model effective? Those who have capital but no time, space or knowledge of animal husbandry can invest. Those who have space, time and skills but less capital can earn income in exchange for hard work and care. In the case of sacrificial cows, the buyer can avoid the uncertainty of the market, the fraud of the broker and doubts about the health of the cow, and see how the cow is growing with his own eyes (through monthly video updates). Who is this farm, why should you trust it? Farmer Kamol's farm is located in Sarail village, Raiganj upazila, Sirajganj, on 2 bighas of land, where a cowshed is already built to house 10-12 cows. Currently, there are 6 cows on the farm. Crops, fish, poultry and cattle are raised together in the "integrated farming" method, so that the waste of one is used for the benefit of the other. The accounting, costs and progress of each work are shown publicly in daily videos — this is the main principle of this farm. Why the limited number of slots? The capacity of the cowshed is 10-12 cows. Currently, 6 cows are already there, so it is possible to keep a maximum of 3 new sponsors (6 new calves). This is not an artificial limitation — this number has been decided based on the calculation of the actual space, so that proper care can be ensured for each animal. Cost sharing — initial purchase price will be paid by the sponsor, specific amount and date of monthly/quarterly food installments. 3. Risk Liability — How will the calf be treated if it gets sick; Compensation or replacement terms if it dies accidentally. 4. Regular Updates — Promise to send monthly photo/video updates of the calf. 5. Handover — Time and method of handover of the cow at the end of the contract period (about 1 year, just before Qurbani). 6. Duration — This campaign will only be active for the first 2-3 years of the farm; after that, the farm will raise and sell the cow with its own capital.
