It was almost dark at night. There was no sound outside except the chirping of crickets. Suddenly, a restless voice came from the cowshed — our cow had become restless. It didn’t take long to realize that the time had come.
Those few hours of waiting
I grew up in a farming family, but the experience of seeing a calf born so closely in my own hands for the first time brought a different kind of fear and excitement. I sat by the cowshed all night by the light of the lantern. Every minute seemed like an hour. The cow would sometimes become restless, and then calm down for a while. I was praying for only one thing — that both the mother and the calf would be healthy.
The moment that changed everything
When I first saw the calf on the ground at dawn, I couldn’t hold back my tears. Such a small animal, yet with what extraordinary strength it was trying to stand up within a few minutes. The cow was licking her calf clean — this scene reminded me anew why I chose this life.
I could not have imagined such a moment while working in the busy city of Dhaka. Here, on my own land, on this small farm built by my own hands — the birth of every new life is not just an "increase in wealth" for me, it is a chapter of emotion.
A new farmer's learning
This night taught me a few things:
There are no shortcuts in farming except by following the laws of nature.
Waiting patiently is the greatest quality of a farmer.
Every new life, every new crop actually brings a new responsibility.
Today, the calf has stepped into adulthood for quite some time, jumping around with its mother. And the cow is now giving milk regularly, with which we continue to make our pure ghee.
These small moments are actually the real story of
Farmer Kamol — not a big promise, but a true journey of daily honesty and hard work.
